"Harmonica Ham" by Harmonica Ham was recorded in 1991, and released
on CD in 2003. This recording was made the year after Kirkland
won first place in the National Harmonica Competition for the
second time. It was a pleasure for him to bring together many
of his country music friends and fellow show musicians, to showcase
their talents.
The late Lew Houston, who formerly toured
with Linda Ronstadt and Conway Twitty and played with countless
national country artists, shows his masterful touch on the pedal
steel. This recording is one of many tributes to his gifts.
Rhonda Vincent also appears on this recording,
playing fiddle and providing backup vocals. Rhonda has gone on
to win "Entertainer of the Year," plus "Female
Vocalist of the Year" from the International Bluegrass Music
Association. She lends her many talents in fiddle-playing and
backup vocals.
